Our Worship & Ministry Offerings
Adult Sunday School
We are currently in an in-depth study of the book of Hebrews. The study is being led by John Cimbala and is in the Social Hall from 9 to 10 AM every Sunday.
Beginning September 18th, a second adult bible study will be offered in the Pastor's office. It will look at "The Good and Beautful God" by James Bryan Smith.
Children's Sunday School - FUMC Eyewitness News
Kids and Teens are experiencing who the Man called Jesus really is by eyewitness reports. Lessons include puzzles, crafts and other activities - including a monthly, "news report" skit.
Bible Studies
There are a variety of bible studies currently being offered for adults:
- Ladies Study Group - The group will be meeting on the second and fourth Sunday of every month beginning October 9th. The study will be based on Sheila Walsh's DVD series and book titled, "The Shelter of God's Promises".
- Women of Faith Evenings - On the third Friday of each month, we will be holding a themed, potluck dinner while watching and discussing exerpts from the 2010 Women of Faith Conference - "Imagine". The series begins October 21st.
- Adult Group Study - Pastor Gene is leading a Wednesday afternoon/evening study of James Bryan Smith's "The Good and Beautiful God".
- Couple's Group Study - Our couples' group find out what "Marriage on the Rock" is about with Jimmy Evan's DVD series. Meetings are monthly.
Youth Fellowship
In conjunction with Saint Paul Lutheren and Pine Grove Presbyterian, the youth fellowship group R.E.B.E.L. (Radical Extravagant Biblical Excellent Love) meets each Sunday night.
Seniors/Retirees
The "Great Expectations" group meets periodically for lunch or short, day-trips and offers fellowship with other seniors and retirees.
Prayer Ministry
Our prayer ministry team meets monthly and each week at the end of service to offer up prayers of petition and praise on behalf of those in the congregation. The team also maintains an email "prayer chain" for emergent requests during the week.
Missions Committee
Our Missions Committee coordinates Fairbrook UMC's donations to missionaries, mission groups, and other Christian ministries. We strive to diversify our giving, supporting some local ministries, some national ministries, and some international ministries and missionaries.
