Each family will gain a better understanding of the states of their child's development and learn appropriate ways in which to foster their child's continued development.
Vision Statement
We envision a preschool in which children can just be children-free from the pressures and stresses of our society and where they have time to play, imagine, explore, learn, and dream without being rushed. Fairbrook First Steps Christian Preschool is licensed by the PA Department of Education as a Private Academic Preschool and is an outreach ministry of Fairbrook United Methodist Church.
Classes Offered for 2010-11 School Year
Mixed-Age Preschool Class (3, 4, 5 Year Olds)
Time: Tuesday/Wednesday/Thursday from 9:00 to 11:45 AMTeacher: "Miss Christy" Hulek, "Mrs. Droske" (Catherine Droske) The classroom environments and curriculum are designed to provide young children with the opportunity to interact and learn together in a developmentally appropriate environment. The maximum class size is 18 children taught by two certified teachers, and utilizing the help of volunteers. The curriculum is planned around units that incorporate academic concepts and Christian education. Children develop in stages, learning best in different ways at each stage. This program offers a wide variety of developmentally appropriate activities, including free play. Play is a very important way for young children to explore, to learn about the world around them, and to practice social interactions. The key to maximizing children's learning through play is to provide them with a stimulating, enriched environment and to give them ample opportunity for self-guided discovery.
